Hey folks! I have lots of news to catch up on, not the least of which is that I just moved to Washington, DC! I am excited to explore the amazing museums here, and get to know the local art scene. Meanwhile, I am without a day job for the first time in about 7 years! Now that I have this extra "free" time to fill, I am picking up some new skills. I've started to learn how to animate using Photoshop, and am totally addicted. I am perhaps overly proud of this rough little animation, but nevertheless here it is!
Becca, your animation ( which I think is great) reminded me of the children's book Fireflies by Julie Brincklowe , When the boy tries to keep the wonderment of a firefly in a jar, he realizes that while he is prolonging his own pleasure gazing at his captured firefly, he is also resulting in the extinguishing of that same pleasure. I can't help thinking how animation of that book would have made it even more powerful and wondrous. Keep exploring! Barbara G.
